To enhance performance and security, Trimble MAPS web tools no longer support older web browsers as of March 1, 2022.

The web tools are no longer compatible with Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions 1.0 and 1.1, which are used by older versions of many browsers. The web tools only support browsers that use TLS 1.2 or higher—a more modern protocol for protecting the privacy of information sent over the internet.

The tools enhanced with this new protocol include ContentTools, FleetPortal, RouteReporter, MapSure, MapExact, Account Manager, and PC*MILER Web.

Who is impacted by this change?

The vast majority of Trimble MAPS customers will experience no impact from this change. It only affects versions of web browsers that are limited to using TLS 1.0 and 1.1, and most browsers have been updated to support TLS 1.2 for nearly a decade. The table below lists the minimum browser versions that support TLS 1.2.

You can check your version in most desktop web browsers via a Settings or an About menu. For example, in Google Chrome, select Customize and control Google Chrome (the three dots at the top of the browser) > Settings > About Chrome.

What if my company is using an older browser?

You will need to update your browser if you want to continue using the web tools via secure HTTPS. Otherwise, you will receive an error when trying to access the web tool sites.
